Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 2016 ISC World Champion and current member of the Men’s Canadian National Team, Ty Sebastian.
Ty has had an amazing career to date and he’s just getting started. Not only has he won an ISC World Title, he’s also won a Canadian Midget and Junior National Championship, an ISC II title and now has his sights set on a World Cup with Team Canada down in Auckland New Zealand at the WBSC Men’s World Cup starting at the end of the month.
We’re gonna talk to Ty about getting his start in the game in his hometown of Brussels, Ontario, that epic 2016 ISC World Title win with the Toronto Gators, his amazing run at this year’s Canadian Senior Men’s Nationals with the Toronto Batmen that led to Ty being named playoff MVP and much, much more.
Seabass was an absolute beauty to chat with. Hopey and I are excited to watch him and the rest of Team Canada coming up at the World Cup.

Outside The Chute had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with 3 National Team Head Coaches as they prep for the WBSC Men’s World Cup starting at the end of the month in Auckland, New Zealand. First, we got to welcome back a former guest of the show, Head Coach of the Argentina Men’s National Team, the always entertaining, Julio Gamarci. Julio talks about what it's like going in with a huge target being the defending champions. We then chat with US Men’s National Team Head Coach, Ron Hackett. Ron gives us a rundown of how they assembled their team and their expectations, and then we finish it off with the Head Coach of Team Canada, BC Native, John Stuart. Stuey, tells us just how hard this team representing the red and white was to select and, of course, how the mission is to be bringing home that gold medal.
This was such an awesome episode to do. If you were already excited for the WBSC Men’s World Cup, trust me, this episode is going to raise that level even more.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of Washington alum and current member of the US Women’s National Team, the one and only, Sis Bates.
Sis has had an amazing career to date and it just continues to grow. She is a 3 time PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year, 3 time NFCA All-American, the All Time leader in hits and triples for the Huskies, and was also named 2019 Seattle Female Sports Star of the Year. Not to mention, Sis is probably one of the best defensive players to ever play the game in our opinion and I’m sure many other.
We’re gonna talk to Sis about getting her start in the game, how she got her nickname that she goes by to this day, the amazing story of her and her dad making 6 hour, one way trips, every weekend, for her to improve her game, her journey to Washington that began for her after watching the 2009 WCWS, of course, her time at Athletes Unlimited where we may or may not have a fan girling session over Sam Fischer and much, much more.
Sis was such a joy to chat with. The always happy and smiling Sis that you see on TV is exactly who I had the pleasure of chatting with. Trust me when I say you’re all going to enjoy this episode.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 4 time ISC World Champion and former Canadian Men’s National Team member, Don Scott.
Donnie has had a fantastic career in the game. To go along with those 4 ISC World Title’s he has won 3 Canadian Senior Men’s Championships, named to the 2011 ISC All World Team and won the 2012 Pan American Championships where he would take home the top pitcher award.
We’re gonna talk to Donnie about getting his start in the game, attending the 1993 Canada Games with Team Ontario, making the jump to the ISC Circuit at the age of 29 with the Kitchener Hallman Twins, what it was like being named to Team Canada in 2011 and much, much more.
Donnie was an absolute beauty to chat with. Hopey and I had a blast chatting with him. Trust me, you’re gonna enjoy this episode.

Matty has had an amazing run in the game so far and he’s still going strong. He is a 2015 WBSC and Pan Am Games Champion, 2 time ISC World Champion, 5 time ISC All World selection, 3 time Canadian Senior Men’s Champion, numerous All Canadians, a few ASA titles…….let’s just say the guy has done it all.
We’re gonna talk to Matty about getting his start in the game in Quebec, attending the 2005 Canada Games in Regina, his time with the powerhouse, New York Gremlins, of course, that epic 2015 season and much, much more.
Matty was an absolute pleasure to chat with. I’m sure you’re all going to enjoy our chat with one of the best all around players our country has produced.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 2019 NFCA All-American and Arizona State Sun Devils alum, Kindra Hackbarth.
Kindra had a stellar 4 years with the Sun Devils. She would be a 3 time All-Pac 12 selection, 2018 NFCA All-West First Team selection, as well as previously mentioned a 2019 All-American.
We take a deep dive into Kindra’s career talking about getting her start in the game, the recruiting process that started at a young age, leading to her and her twin sister Maddie originally committing to Notre Dame and then landing in Fresno State. We chat about the transfer out of Fresno State to Arizona State that would ultimately reunite them with Coach Trisha Ford. Kindra talks about getting her love for the game back while with the Sun Devils, that epic 18-17 game against Utah that has been discussed on here before and the possibility of getting those cleats back on in the future.
Kindra was an absolute joy to chat with. I’m definitely looking forward to see what’s in store for her down the road here. I’m sure whatever it is, it will be special.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of Alabama alum, 2016 All-American and the owner of one of the best curveballs in the game, Sydney Littlejohn Watkins.
Syd had a stellar 4 years with the Crimson Tide at the University of Alabama. She was a 4 year letter winner, raking up 67 wins and a career 1.77 ERA which puts her ranked 6th of all time in program history for both those stats. Like I mentioned earlier, she was a 2016 NFCA All-American, as well as, a NFCA All-Region First Team. She was also the first player to throw a perfect game at Rhodes Stadium. Syd then would take some time off before making her return in the Netherlands for the Euro Cup in 2021 and placing third. She’d then move on to AUX this past spring and play so well it earned her a contract for Season 3 of AU in Chicago that finished up in August. Syd currently works as a registered dietician at the University of Florida.
We’re gonna talk to Syd about getting her start in the game back in Texas, her time at Alabama, the journey back to the game she had after retirement and , of course, her time with Athletes Unlimited.
Syd was an absolute treat to chat with. I can’t thank her enough for taking the time to come on and chat, especially the day before a massive hurricane was on its way.
