Episode 144 - John Hill

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with Former Coach with the Men’s Canadian National Team and Softball Newfoundland Hall of Famer, the one and only, John Hill.
John has seen and done it all in our game.  He has won numerous Canadian Senior National Titles coaching Newfoundland, been apart of Hill United’s epic ISC and ASA runs and was a Pan Am and WBSC Gold Medalist back in 2015.  He was also inducted into the Softball Newfoundland Hall of Fame back in 2009.
We’re gonna talk to John about getting his start in the game, the powerhouse that is Newfoundland in our country, joining the Men’s National Team, of course, those Gold Medal wins in 2015 and so much more.
This was legit one of mine and Hopey’s favorite interviews we have ever done.  I think we could have talked about the game a few hours more than we did.  Trust me when I say you’re all going to enjoy this one.

Episode 143 - Morgan Rackel

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with Austin Peay State alum, both a bronze and silver medalist at the Pan American Games and current member of the Canadian Women’s National Team, Calgary Alberta native, Morgan Rackel.
 Mo has had a stellar career to date, as she has been named North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, was a NFCA Central Third Team selection as well as the previously mentioned medal wins at the Pan Am Games.
We talked to Mo about getting her start in the game after developing the love for it from her parents, competing at the 2017 Canada Games in Winnipeg, being named to the Canadian National Team, the disappointment of being named an alternate to the 2020 Olympic Team, and much, much more.
Mo was such a pleasure to chat with.  I’m so excited to see what the future holds for her both on and off the field.  I know whatever it is, its going to be great.

Episode 142 - Jerome Raemaki

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with one of the best in our game, New Zealand native, Jerome Raemaki.
Romie burst onto the international softball scene when he was just 16 years old and hasn’t looked back. He is a 7 time ISC All World selection, 3 time ISC World Champ with the New York Gremlins and of course has been a fixture with the New Zealand Black Sox for many years now.
We’re gonna talk to Romie about getting his start in the game, playing for, and telling us about the rich history of his club team PK, coming over to play on the ISC circuit at such a young age with Jarvis, those ISC Titles with the Gremlins and much, much more.
This was such a great episode.  Hopey and I were pumped to have the opportunity to chat with such an awesome player in our game and an even better individual.

Episode 141 - Anna Hinde

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with the #2 ranked player by Extra Innings Softball for the class of 2025, Legacy & Legends #1 overall ranked prospect and Florida State University commit, Anna Hinde.
Anna is one of those players that you look at and you just see the potential for greatness shining through.  I mean, I say it on here during this talk, Anna is a student of the game and you can see those leadership attributes that she possesses both on and off the field.
We’re gonna talk to Anna about getting her start in the game at 8 years of age, her absolute love for the game, getting to play in this past PGF Futures Game, of course, committing to Florida State and much, much more.
Anna was such a pleasure to chat with, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.  I know the Seminoles have a great one on their hands.

Episode 140 - Peter Loubardias

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with legendary broadcaster, Saskatoon native, the one and only, Peter Loubardias.
Of course, Peter is well known for his play by play over the years for both the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames in the NHL, as well as countless Memorial Cups, but he’s also a huge advocate for the game of softball.
Peter tells us about getting that love for the game back in the late 70’s in Saskatoon, with the Harmony Women’s Softball team that would go on to win a Senior Women’s Nationals in 1980 in Hull, Quebec.  We talk about the all the amazing events he’s got to witness at Gordie Howe park, including the call of Adam Folkard’s no hitter in 2009 as Australia captured its first ISF World title. We also go into a deep dive on the exposure this game gets, or lack there of, that you’re definitely going to want to hear.
Peter was an absolute treat to chat with.  His knowledge of the game and memory recall is just ridiculous.  The fact he was able to take time out of his hectic schedule and come on a chat with us was awesome.

Episode 139 - Blaine Milheim

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 2 time ISC World Champion and 2022 WBSC Bronze medalist with Team USA, Michigan native, Blaine Milheim.
Blaine has already had an accomplished career and its really just getting started.  This guy has got a bunch more years to add to the resume of personal awards and team championships, which no doubt he will.
We talk to Blaine about growing up with the game watching his dad play as a young one in Michigan, the jump between baseball and fastpitch, playing at the WBSC World Junior Championships in Whitehorse back in 2014, making a name for himself on the ISC level and of course that Bronze medal for Team USA at the 2022 Men’s World Cup down in New Zealand.
Blaine was an absolute beauty to chat with, Hopey and I were still laughing at this one after we were done recording.  I’m sure you all are gonna love it.
 

Episode 138 - AnaMarie Bruni

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of South Florida alum and WPF Champion with the Texas Smoke, AnaMarie Bruni.
Man, what a talk we had. I don’t know where Ana gets the time to sleep with her doing her thing at AnaBruni softball online, to working with Camwood Bats, to playing proball, to getting her freaking nursing degree.  She is definitely doing it all.
We talk to Ana about getting her start in the game, her time at USF, nursing over in Italy, how she joined the Texas Smoke and much, much more.  There was so much to talk about on here it was ridiculous, it was awesome.

Episode 137 - Patrick Burns

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 2021 ISC World Champion and 2019 WBSC Bronze Medalist with Team Canada, Saskatchewan native, Patrick Burns.
Burnsy has had a fantastic career to date and he’s still going strong. The 33 year old has carved his way into being one of the most versatile players in the country.  Burnsy is not only a threat on the mound and in the outfield but is also as deadly as a hitter as they come in that batter’s box.  This past Canadian Senior Men’s Nationals was a clear indication of that as he hit a whopping .750.  We chat about it on here but that’s just insane.
We also chat about him getting his start in the game back in the day, the back to back U19 National Titles won with the Saskatoon Selects, his time at the University of Saskatchewan playing basketball, which included a CIS National title in 2010, of course, that bronze medal at the WBSC’s in 2019, and much, much more.
