Outside The Chute sits down and chats with Canadian Olympian, Kaleigh Rafter.
Kaleigh has had an amazing career to date, setting school records at University of Detroit, competing at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, transferring to Florida State University for a final season and leading the team in homeruns and RBI’s and she’s still going strong after hitting the homerun to secure Canada a spot in the next Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
We’re gonna talk to Kaleigh about all of these things along with getting her start growing up, how good she is at badminton, getting into the coaching side of the game, as well as, all the different MLB Stadiums she has gotten to see.
This is a fantastic episode with a true student of the game and someone who is a treat to just kick back and talk ball with.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks to Team Canada member and Goulds, Newfoundland native, Ryan Boland.
Ryan has had an amazing career to date winning 7 Canadian Senior Men's Championships, 2 ISC World Titles, 2 Canadian Junior Men's Championships, an ISF World Title and a PanAm Games Gold medal.
We’re gonna talk to Boley about growing up in Gould’s and getting his start in the game, having a successful junior career, being named to Team Canada, having his brother Shane walk it off to win the ISC World title with the Toronto Gators and the run of Canadian Titles that are still on going to this day.
Ryan will also talk to us about the Avalon Wave Fundamentals Fastpitch program that they run over in Newfoundland.

Outside The Chute sits down and chats with former Canadian Olympian, Georgia Tech star and North Delta, BC native, Jen Yee.
Jen had an amazing career both in the NCAA and on the International stage. With the Canadian National Team she was the teams leading hitter at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and also was a member of the Gold medal winning squad in 2015.
With Georgia Tech, Jen would go on to set countless school records. In her Senior year she led the entire NCAA in batting average (.568), slugging percentage (1.270), on-base percentage (.732), runs scored (93), walks (88) and home runs (29) as well as reaching base in all 62 games and getting walked an NCAA record 31 times in one season.
We’ll talk to Jen about growing up in BC, joining the national team, that amazing senior season, as well as, playing professionally over in Japan and working with a bat company in Ottawa.
Jen was a pleasure to talk to, so we hope everyone enjoys this episode from a true student of the game.

We’re gonna talk to Holly about growing up in the Delta Heat program, being the youngest member on the Canadian Junior National Team, starring with Kent State University where she once hit 5 homeruns in 5 consecutive at bats, but not the way you would think as well as moving on to the Canadian National Team and that feeling of qualifying for the Olympic games in Tokyo.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks to Team Canada member and St John's, Newfoundland native, Jason Hill.
Jason has won 5 ISC titles, which includes one with The Farm in 2007 and then another 4 with powerhouse Hill United Chiefs, and an amazing 7 of the last 8 Canadian Senior Men’s Championships.
His list of personal accomplishments are plenty as he’s been named to 3 ISC All World Teams, 2 Canadian Senior Men’s MVP’s and Top Batter awards, playoff MVP and 5 All Canadian Selections.
We’re gonna talk to Hilly about getting his start in the game as a young kid watching his Dad, John, play over in Newfoundland, as well as dive right into his time with the Men’s National team, playing with The Farm and Hill United and the Newfoundland dynasty that is still on going to this day.
It was great talking to Jason as he also gets to respond to, Episode 2 guest, Brady Woods comments on him.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks to Lismore, Australia native, and one of the best to ever play the game of fastpitch, Nick Shailes.
Shailsy has a list of accomplishments that would take forever to mention but some key ones would include a 5 time ISC World Champion, ISF Men’s World Champion with Australia in 2009 and Canadian Senior Men’s Championship in 2017. He’s also a 10-time All-World Team player at the ISC’s along with 3 MVP awards. In 2015 he was voted best player in the world by his peers.
Nick now lives in Ontario with his wife Gen, who is expecting very soon, and son Lennox.
We’re gonna talk to Nick about growing up in Australia, his time with the Aussie National Team, winning numerous ISC titles, as well as his successful company, Lumberjack Sports.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks to Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia native, former East Hants Mastodon and current Assistant Coach of the Cape Breton Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Matt Anthony.
We're going to talk to Matt about being pretty much born into the game, with his father Terry and Grandfather Carl, being prominent softball figures not only in the local community but also in the province of Nova Scotia, growing up in the East Hants Minor Ball system, and playing at the men's level.
We'll talk about transitioning to the coaching side of the game where Ants was able to help the East Hants Expo's win a silver medal at the 2011 Canadian Midget Nationals in Fredericton, NB and then the experience of coaching at the 2017 Canada Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Ants will also give us a detailed description of his first season coaching in the QMJHL with the Cape Breton Eagles, how things could have went and what the future holds for the team.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks to Lantz, Nova Scotia native, co-host of Outside The Chute and Head Coach of the 2017 Canadian Senior Men's National Champion, East Hants Mastodons.
Chris will tell us about his early days of playing days with the original East Hants Mastodons before moving on to play close to ten season with the Brookfield Elks. We'll relive some big games that the Elks had against the Halifax Keiths and the Kitchener River Shark Twins back in the day, as well as an in depth talk about a freak accident during a game that left him blind in one eye.
What would be a major set back for most, Chris turned it into a coaching opportunity that awarded him with a silver medal at the 2011 Midget Nationals coaching his son Jake in Fredericton, New Brunswick and capped off with a Canadian Senior Men's National title in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2017.
I hope everyone enjoys this interview as Chris's passion for the game of fastpitch is second to none.
