Outside The Chute sits down and chats with former Oklahoma State Cowgirls standout and current Woman’s Canadian National Team member, Lauren Regula.
Lauren would have an amazing 4 year career at Oklahoma State where she would be named to 3, All Big 12 First Team’s, was a 2003 1st Team All American and was also named 2003 Big 12 Player of the Year.
She would first see action with the Women’s National team in 2002 and would go on to play in the Olympic Games in 2004 IN Athens and 2008 in Beijing, before coming back in 2016 to win her first medal with Team Canada as they took home the bronze at the World Championships.
We’re gonna talk to Lauren about getting her start in the game at the age of 12, her time at OSU, those two Olympic games, as well as, the struggles she went through during her time away from the game and much more.
This is a fantastic candid interview from one of the true great people in this game and in life. Lauren was a treat to chat with and I’m sure you’re going to feel her positivity coming through to you on this episode.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with Australian native, Andrew Kirkpatrick.
Andrew is one of the best players to ever play the game as he has been named to 11 ISC All World Teams, named ISC Most Outstanding pitcher three times, has won 4 ISC World Titles and won an ISF World Championship in 2009 just to name a few.
We’re gonna talk to Andrew about getting his start in the game, winning the 2001 World Junior Gold for Australia, the epic gold medal for the country in 2009, his storied ISC career, as well as, his last two ISC Championships with the New York Gremlins.
Cheese was a treat to talk to and we’ll find out just how he got that nickname as well.

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with Brian Urquhart. Brian has played all over North and South America with stints in Massachusetts, Venezuela, Manitoba, Virginia, Ontario, Michigan and of course at home in Nova Scotia, with Halifax, Brookfield and his hometown East Hants Mastodons.
We’re gonna talk to Urqy about getting his start in the game in his hometown of Lantz, attending the 97 Canada Games in Brandon, Manitoba, his stories from ISC’s and Senior Nationals over the years, as well as, a fantastic story about coming home from Venezuela that you’re definitely going to want to hear.
Urqy also tells us about leaving the game to focus on his job with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he now the Team President.

Outside The Chute sits down and chats with Canadian Women's National Team member and former University of Washington standout, Victoria Hayward.
Vic is a 4 time All-Pac-12 Conference winner, 2014 All American, Winner of the 2019 National Pro Fastpitch League, Jennie Finch Award and most recently finished 3rd overall in the points standings in the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited League.
We’re going to talk to Vic about getting her start in the game, her illustrious high school career at Mountain View High, being the youngest player ever to play for Team Canada at the age of 16, as well as, her fabulous 4 years at Washington playing for the Huskies and the chance to play this past summer in the newly formed Athletes Unlimited league.
Vic was a joy to chat with and you’ll get to hear just how much she has a passion for this game in our talk.

Outside The Chute sits down and chats with former Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia native, now Grand Forks, North Dakota native and ISC Hall of Famer, Gerald Muizelaar.
Muizey is an 8 time ISC All World selection, 3 time ISC Most Outstanding Pitcher, has 3 ISC World Titles and a Canadian Senior Men’s National Title in 1998 just to name a few.
We’re going to talk to Gerald about getting his start in Shubenacadie and guys he would have played with growing up along the way. The amazing run at the 1993 Canada Games with Team Nova Scotia, winning the National Title on home soil with the Halifax Jaguars in 1998, as well as his storied ISC career which launched him into the Hall of Fame in 2019.
Muizey has now taken on a roll as pitching coach with Softball USA on the Men’s National Team and we’ll also find out his thoughts on that transition.
It was awesome to catch up with Muizey and talk about his illustrious career, I’m sure you’re all going to enjoy this interview.

Outside The Chute sits down and chats with former Arizona Wildcat pitching star, Espy Award winner and current Arizona Assistant Coach, Taryne Mowatt-McKinney.
Taryne’s list of accompishments at U of A are extensive as she holds or shares 8 school pitching records, including wins, innings pitched and strikeouts in a season. She helped the Wildcats to back to back National Championships in 2006 and 2007 and will forever be remembered for the amazing 2007 Women’s College World Series where she pitched 60 innings with 76 strikeouts and four shutouts to take home the National title, along with the most outstanding player award. A few weeks later she would win the 2007 Female Athlete of the Year at the Espy Awards becoming the only softball player to ever pull off that feat.
We’re gonna talk to Taryne about that epic year, along with how she got started in the game, a fantastic story on how she got that amazing dress for the Espys, and now her love for coaching at U of A.
Taryne was an absolute treat to talk to and one of my favorite interviews so far.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks with Nanaimo, BC native and Team Canada Member, Blake Hunter.
Blake has emerged into one of the best hitter’s in the country. He is a 3 time All Canadian, was named to the 2017 All World Team at the ISC, won a silver medal at the 2005 Canada Games, and a 2 time silver medalist at the Canadian Senior Men’s Nationals.
We’re gonna talk to Blake about getting his start in the game in BC, playing at the 2005 Canada Games, moving to NS for a season and playing with the Murphys Eagles, as well as, some great stories from the 2017 WBSC World’s in Whitehorse.

Outside The Chute sits down and talks with former Team Canada member and PEI Native, Jeff Ellsworth.
Ellsy has a long list of accomplishments in the game which include 5 ISC World Titles, 2 Canadian Senior Men’s Titles, 3 Time ASA Champion, an ISF Champion in 2015, 6 time All Canadian, 5 Time All World Team, and an ISC World Tournament MVP, just to name a few.
We’re going to talk to Ellsy about getting his start in the game on the Island, starting on the Senior circuit with the Summerside Twins, playing his first ISC’s with the Wes-Man Alliance out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as, his time with the Hill United Chiefs which still continues to this day in a GM role.
This was a great talk with arguably PEI’s most decorated Fastpitch player ever and one of the best this country has ever produced.
