Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with 3 time All Canadian with the Brookfield Elks, 1979 Pan Am Games Gold Medalist, Softball Canada and Sport Nova Scotia Hall of Famer, the one and only, Mike Henderson.
This one is near and dear to myself as I had the privilege of growing up in Brookfield and watching Mike and the Elks in the mid 80’s and early 90’s and what a treat it was. I can remember how packed Elk Park would be and just how easy guys like Mike, Robert Putnam, Steve Locke, Robbie Cooke and of course the late, great Bobbly Campbell made things look out there. All of us wanted to be like them, so being able to sit down with Mike and talk about his career and the Elks was simply awesome.
We talk to Mike about getting his start in the game back in the day, the rise of the Elks at the Senior level, his Pan Am Games gold, of course, the epic 1980’s Canadian Senior Nationals win for the Elks in Saskatoon and so much more.
